Objects that are far away they have sent out the light that we receive billions of years later,and light travels with a limited speed(the speed of light)and therefore looking far out into space means also looking far back into time.

一、关于版本的选择
关于这部纪录片Size Matters,现在发现了两个版本,都是在B站上的

这个版本是女声版;

这个版本是男声版,有一个up主上传的也是这个版本,但只有英文字幕, https://www.bilibili.com/video/av202603481/
两个版本区别在于旁白朗读者一男一女,穿插在正片中的引导自然也有差异,但正片内容顺序还是一样的;
题目同样都是Size Matters,直译的话的确是“大小很重要”,但对于内容来说,“尺寸迷思”可能更显得“信达雅”。
最大的区别男声版直接把女声的朗读者给全部剪掉了,没有出现女性旁边朗读者,而她的戏份其实并不少,都用剪辑的视频给替代了,那这么看起来还是先有女声版,才有后来的男声剪辑版。个人推荐直接看女声版就够了。
这部纪录片一共两集,女声版第一集是 Big Trouble,第二集是That Shrinking Feeling
男声版是把标题改成了 Is Bigger Better?,Is Small Beautiful?
二、具体的一些想法
(1)女性朗读者开宗明义我们将进行一场思想实验(thought experiment),而这部纪录片的核心就是如此,不停地做着头脑风暴,并且用特效将这些想法一一试图还原出来。两集纪录片都有顺序地、主要从三个方面进行思想实验,即放大或缩小地球、人类自己和宇宙恒星或行星。
不得不说,旁白朗读者在这部纪录片中存在感比较高,穿插在大大小小的环节之中,然而在2018年的特效中,她的出场总是给人一种比较明显的抠图的感觉U•ェ•*U
(2)在观看这部纪录片之前,我其实就已经先下了一个判断,无论是宇宙还是地球,或者说生态圈、人体等等,“存在即合理”,世间万物以现在的形体存在那必然是经历过了大量的磨合,优胜劣汰后的产物。这绝对是一个极其精妙的系统,或许可以允许多少多少微小的精度偏差,但如果想发生变化那绝对是要经历多大成本的改变才能实现,至于什么是多大、什么是多小那就要在不同的环境下来判断。就比如说大气中氧气的浓度的改变,地球与月球之间的距离,都可以有变化,但是一旦超过那个度就会引起翻天覆地的变化。
接着看下去,的确是有很多思想实验佐证了我的看法,比如放大多少倍的地球或者缩小几分之几的地球,放大太阳与缩小太阳,放大人类与缩小人类,植物、动物、寿命、智力等等,很多不同的角度。也可以说,只要你肯放大或缩小这些东西,你就一定会改变它们,使得它们成为新物种,或者新的星系。一旦体型超过了合适的区间,那么生物必然会为了适应新的体型进化成或者退化成新的物种。至于我为什么说新的星系,那当然是放大的太阳或者缩小的太阳都会导致灾难性的后果(灾难当然是对人类来说)┗( ▔, ▔ )┛
(3)在长达近两个小时的思想实验中,你可能不会获得什么实在实在的知识,但你可能会记住人类最好别长太高,地球这么大就够了,太阳还好只有这么小(✪ω✪)
