Filming has begun on the fourth series of popular Bath-based detective drama McDonald & Dodds, starring Tala Gouveia and BAFTA award-winner Jason Watkins Comprising three feature length films (3 x120), the guest cast for the first story includes Toby Stephens (Lost In Space), singer/songwriter Pixie Lott (The Voice Kids), Lydia Leonard (Gentleman Jack), Daniel Lapaine (Catastrophe), Dipo Ola (Landscapers), John Gordon Sinclair (Gregory’s Girl) and Ace Bhatti (Line of Duty). In this first film, McDonald and Dodds begin to investigate when a middle-aged woman is found shot dead in a rented flat. The killer has removed all clues to her identity, but DNA reveals she went missing over 35 years ago. Where has she been all those years? And who with? Returning to the cast this series are Claire Skinner (Outnumbered) who plays Chief Superintendent Ormond and Charlie Chambers (EastEnders) who plays DC Goldie. Bhavik C. Pankhania (World On Fire) joins the line up as DC Lee. The series has been commissioned for ITV by Polly Hill and Huw Kennair Jones and will be produced by Joe Shrubb. Executive producers are Robert Murphy, Damien Timmer and Charlotte Webber. The first film is written by Robert Murphy and directed by Khurrum M. Sultan. Huw Kennair Jones said: “We’re thrilled to be returning to the beautiful city of Bath for more original and inventive crimes for McDonald and Dodds to solve. And it’s great to be working with Mammoth Screen, Robert Murphy and Tala and Jason once again on what promises to be another brilliant series.” McDonald & Dodds is produced by leading independent production company Mammoth Screen and created by Robert Murphy. The previous three series are available to view via streaming platforms ITVX in the UK and Britbox in North America and Australia. ITV Studios will distribute the drama internationally. Itv的《McDonald & Dodds》第四季就三集，真不过瘾。
觉得这季的韵味差了些，有些刻意。
第一集看完，居然忘了凶手是谁；第三集前半部分的铺垫还好，后半部分让人泄气；最喜欢第二集，节奏稳健，细节饱满，精致古典，Dodds一直找椅子这事儿可太好玩了。
除了这些，小镇Bath一贯风姿绰约，两位拍档仍然一温一火，Dodds迷迷糊糊，McDonald雷厉风行。
好的侦探故事总是能让人睡个好觉。
期待第五季。
剧情一般，但有下一季还要看。
第一集讲的是蓝调音乐。一个男性被发现勒死在公交车座位上。在调查过程中发现，男性每天做活体雕塑的场所出现了另外一个死者b，是dodds警官的挚友。
最后凶手是一个黑人学生，因为自己的论文被权威a挂了，对权威a怀恨在心。了解到死者b手上有权威a想要的东西，就想让死者b卖给自己，没有得逞就一拳打死了死者b。
Bug是，怎么说着说着黑人学生就坦白了？？我没太懂。
至于网上说为什么那个地图在拍卖的姐弟手里，我觉得是因为那时候死者b已经委托他们卖给权威a了，他们会面也是为了卖东西。所以东西在拍卖姐弟手里也可以理解。
第二集讲的是一个女记者死于过敏性休克，她一直放在包里的过敏药不见了。与其同时，有一个女性在出租屋内被枪杀。而第一个女性死者的过敏药出现在了第二个女性死者家里。
第二个女性死者是一个跨国罪犯集团的老大的妹妹。30多年前失踪了。
最后凶手是一个跨国犯罪集团的老大的妻子。妻子才是老大背后出谋划策的人。妻子觉得老大对她有隐瞒，所以策划了这一出想要把老大的钱据为己有。出卖她的是她的标志性歪头动作。
Bug是，为什么第二个女性死者要离开自己的船屋去租房子啊？
第三集讲的是一天内的3场婚礼都死了人。现场留下了标记了X XX XXX的字样。最后凶手是第二个婚礼死者的哥哥，因为他的妹妹害死了自己的未婚妻，但却拥有了幸福。哥哥身负巨债被黑帮盯住。最后想杀了妹妹，为了复仇，也想用妹妹的钱帮自己还债。其他2个事件是为了掩盖真正的目的。
Bug是，哥哥为什么能确保妹妹喝到那杯标记的有毒的饮料呢？我不理解。
第一集的知识含量太多了，要暂停很多次，记下提到的音乐人名字和音乐类型，一直想丰富自己在音乐方面的鉴赏水平，却找不到相关的学习资料，好不容易抓到一个，那可不得使劲薅了吗！
